Reo Hatate set to make Japan debut against USA and Ecuador

Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate has been given the chance to impress for Japan ahead of the World Cup in Qatar later this year. The Japanese squad for this month’s international break was announced in the early hours of this morning, as they prepare to play friendlies against the United States and Ecuador. According to dependable journalist Dan Orlowitz, Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, and Reo Hatate were all named to the 30-man squad for the two games at the end of September. Mae Dan Orlowitz (@aishiterutokyo) — x 15 September 2022 The matches against the United States and Ecuador could be crucial for all three Celtic players, with the Qatar 2022 World Cup taking place in the winter of this year. These friendly matches are one of the last chances for Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu to scout potential World Cup squad members, with the selection deadline in November fast approaching. From the outside looking in, it appears that both Kyogo and Daizen Maeda are almost certain to be named to the tournament’s 26-man squad after becoming regulars. However, this game period will provide an excellent opportunity for Reo Hatate to demonstrate his worth ahead of the prestigious competition. The midfielder has had a fantastic start to the season and is clearly catching the attention of those in charge in his homeland, who are eager to see him in action later this month. Hatate earned his first Japan cap in March during a World Cup qualifier against Vietnam. But he only had 45 minutes to make an impression before being replaced. Hatate certainly deserves a chance to show why he should be in the Japanese squad heading to Qatar in November after performing well at the highest level against the likes of Real Madrid, alongside Kyogo and Maeda. Of course, in facing the United States, the Celtic trio may be joined by a fellow Hoops teammate who will be looking to make his own mark ahead of the World Cup. Carter, Cameron- Vickers has also been named to his country’s squad and will be hoping for strong performances to cement his place in the lineup. Thankfully, we won’t have to see all four Celtic players travel too far across the globe, with the friendly matches taking place in Germany. So, we wish our Bhoys the best of luck, and we hope they can make a strong enough impression to earn a spot in the Qatar 2022 World Cup alongside players like Josip Juranovic. In other news, Real Madrid waited too long but ended up doing Celtic a huge favor. Do you have anything to say about this article?
